Anybody remember the “stimulus” checks most of us got earlier this year? I was happy to get it at the time, and, boy, did it stimulate the economy or what!?
Anyway, I had this in mind when I read about the House Democrats’ plan for a new economic stimulus package. U.S. Rep. Betty Sutton, D-Copley Township, was insistent about the need for such a package when she visited us for an endorsement interview recently. The infrastructure stuff might be good, but direct payments to taxpayers didn’t seem to work last time around.
That is, unless you are in the adult entertainment industry. Then the stimulus package worked out just fine last summer.
